Internet to allow Arabic script addresses
Fri, 10/30/2009 - 15:54 — Gihane AskarGreat news for the Arab world! Finally, the Internet regulator has approved plans to allow non-Latin-script web addresses, such as Arabic and Chinese.
It is probably the biggest change in the Internet world since it was created 40 years ago.
"It is likely the majority of early non-Latin net addresses to be approved will be in Chinese and Arabic script, followed by Russian," wrote the BBC.
So, no more excuses. Let's have more Arabic websites created for the Arabs by the Arabs!
